Roger Miller and Aesop

I have posted previously how much Sarah loves Roger Miller. She still frequently listens to his music. She also likes the Disney Robin Hood movie, where Miller voices the minstrel. The minstrel is a rooster (all the characters in Disney's version are animals).

So why I am bringing all this up again? Well, the other day Sarah received a book of Aesop's fables. As we read the fable of The Rooster and The Eagle, Sarah studied the pictures. She was especially interested in the picture of the rooster. "Is that Roger Miller?" she wanted to know.

Um, no. Not exactly. Poor Aesop--his fable has been hijacked.

On a side note, Sarah can sing almost every line of Miller's songs. And if you've never heard a three-year-old girl singing "Chug-a-Lug", then you've definitely been missing out! ;)
